Veggies From Mexico’s agricultural community commemorate “International Women’s Day”

When you visit a farming company in Sinaloa, you quickly realize that many people are involved in bringing food products to your home. Behind the scenes, there is hard work, professionalism, and countless stories. Notably, more and more women are becoming integral parts of this crucial sector—mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, partners, and collaborators—all contributing their utmost to make things happen. Undoubtedly, the impact of women’s work is palpable, which is why we feel deeply honored to share how companies within our Veggies From Mexico community commemorate this significant day, recognizing women’s contributions to the fresh produce industry and their respective companies.
Agrícola Belher takes pride in its diverse and committed team, where women play pivotal roles in the company’s development and growth. To mark this day, the farm disseminated information on women’s rights issues, encouraging women to reflect on their contributions to economic activity. Women employees received chocolates donated by AFOMAC (Association for training and guidance of women) along with informational brochures. Picture Collages featuring photos of women in their work areas were also created.
Certainly, initiatives promoting gender equality and women’s leadership in the workplace will continue to be promoted.

Agrícola El Nazario, on the other hand, organized a workshop in collaboration with the DIF (Integral Family Development) of the town of Pericos, Sinaloa. The workshop covered topics such as the importance of self-esteem, its influence on daily life, and strategies for improvement. Female employees actively participated in dynamic exercises, fostering self-reflection, and identifying areas for personal growth.
After the workshop, a breakfast was organized where the women were able to share their experiences and generate an atmosphere of support and companionship. It was a very fulfilling day during which all the participants learned and grew together.
Grupo Chaparral, composed of Agrícola Chaparral and Agroindustrias Tombell,, companies that are part of our agricultural community, expressed their appreciation for the outstanding work of their team. Additionally, the medical and social work teams provided basic information through a presentation on issues related to women’s physical and mental health.
Grupo Chaparral takes pride in maintaining gender equality within the company. Their human capital consists of 50% women and 50% men, with no distinction whatsoever.

In commemoration of this important date, wall newspaper were created, and awareness-raising activities emphasized the significance of women.
Grupo Chaparral remains committed to gender equality and actively promotes women’s participation in all areas of the company. They recognize the invaluable contributions of women and continue working toward a more equal and just future for all.
At Del Campo y Asociados, in support and admiration of women, the 3rd “Cihuacuacualtzin” (Beautiful Woman) contest was held. Children studying at the school located within the agricultural company sang, danced, recited poems, and even sang in honor of women. The winners received cash prizes.
International Women’s Day serves as an important occasion to recognize and celebrate the achievements and struggles of women worldwide. In the agricultural sector, women play a vital role in food production, environmental care, and the economies of many communities.
International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the significance of empowering women in agriculture and ensuring their equal participation at all stages of the agricultural value chain.
