Agrícola Chaparral conducts training on Human Rights: Prevention of Workplace Harassment
Last October at the start of this farming season, Grupo Chaparral, through the Sinaloa State Human Rights Commission, carried out a training program on Human Rights, Good Treatment and Prevention of Workplace Harassment.
On this occasion, the talk was given to employees in the field, administration, senior management, middle management and daycare center personnel.
The objective of this training is to share with the collaborators the actions and strategies to be carried out for the prevention of workplace harassment and to establish them consistently and homogeneously. Some of the actions shared were:
1. Create a company culture with zero tolerance towards any form of harassment at work and promote it among the employees.
2. Improve how labor conflicts are addressed and resolved before they can lead to harassment.
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of any workplace harassment protocol, for which workers will also be asked about its usefulness.
4. Establish mechanisms to file a complaint.
5. Generate a culture of respect and non-discrimination with all employees.
Jesus Alberto Paez, who oversaw this talk, emphasized that there must be a commitment and obligation to respect the rights of women and men, to promote gender equality and to promote and ensure the full exercise of the right to live free of violence.
On behalf of Grupo Chaparral, Yolanda Rodriguez Rodriguez, Social Responsibility Coordinator, shared that for several years, the company has been strengthening the promotion and dissemination of human rights among its employees through training that promotes healthy coexistence in the workplace. In addition to having an agreement with the CEDH, which is a source of pride for being a company committed to human rights and currently have this distinctive that was awarded in December 2021.
The Sinaloa State Human Rights Commission (CEDH) is an autonomous public body whose objective is the defense, promotion, study and dissemination of human rights recognized in the Mexican Constitution, international treaties and laws.
