Agricola BelHer opens its organic garden in its Community Development Centers
The Tolín Organic Garden project is up and running for the second season.
The objective of having this garden is to teach the children all the processes that are needed to harvest the fruit that requires care and dedication. It is done in an operational framework that represents no risky for them and that what they sow can be harvested for their consumption and that of their families and help them feel proud to contribute to their homes.
A total of 164 boys and girls from the two community development centers, Dorita and Lo de Beltrán, aged 6-13 years old, are participating, as well as staff from administration, social work, nursing, daycare, production, innovation, and continuous improvement, and machinery and grains.
Various vegetables such as carrots, onions, cucumbers, cilantro, radishes, squash, and bell pepper were planted and will be cultivated. Work teams composed of children and a collaborator who will act as supervisor were formed for the activity. Visits to the garden will be made every week until the harvest, in approximately 60 days.
