Veggies From Mexico participates in meeting with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Singapore
On Tuesday, July 12, a virtual meeting was held between our Director General, Mr. Georgius Gotsis, and Ms. Serena Chan – Senior Deputy Director of the Emerging Markets Division of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore, accompanied by Jose Alberto Valdez Ramos. The meeting was also attended by Juan Bernardo Orozco Sanchez, Director of Economic Studies, and Nazareth Salas Jimenez from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER).
The purpose of the meeting was to learn about the needs for Mexican agricultural products in Singapore and how Sinaloa’s growers could participate in that market. Mrs. Chan listened to a presentation by Mr. Gotsis in which he shared relevant economic information about the state of Sinaloa, as well as production zones, volumes, and harvest dates.
Mrs. Chan was very interested in products such as cherry and grape tomatoes, cluster tomatoes, colored peppers, and all organic vegetables. She commented that she would soon share the information with the members of her chamber to look for areas of the business opportunity with this important Asian country.
