The Culiacan Growers Association presents Its Second Work Report for the Steering Committee 2022-2025
Culiacan, Sinaloa – The second activities report of the Steering Committee 2022-2025, chaired by Enrique Riveros, took place on February 29th in the Auditorium of the Association of Farmers of the Culiacán River (AARC).
The agricultural leader underscored the vital role of agriculture in the history and development of communities. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of civil associations like the AARC in advocating for farmers’ interests.
Riveros Echavarria also highlighted the challenges confronting agriculture in the region, including the threat of agrochemical bans, labor recruitment difficulties, and policy changes affecting the sector.
Confirming the commitment of the AARC and the 2022-2025 Steering Committee, Riveros Echavarria pledged to strengthen members through training workshops, service provision, and efforts to enhance overall profitability.
The AARC president celebrated several achievements during his administration, including association strengthening, the promotion of sustainability in agriculture, and the exploration of marketing alternatives for agricultural products.
Furthermore, Riveros Echavarria acknowledged the significant work carried out by the organization’s social arm: Pro Familia de Jornaleros Agricolas IAP. This model exemplifies human and social development for workers who participate in the program and, with their resources, create optimal conditions for their families in the fields.
In conclusion, Enrique Riveros reaffirmed the AARC’s commitment to supporting commercial agriculture—a mission that has been central to the organization’s existence for 90 years. Their goal remains to ensure profitability and sustainability for the agricultural sector.
The Association of Farmers of the Culiacan River (AARC) was founded in 1932 by a group of visionary farmers to defend and promote the interests of the agricultural sector.
With a membership of over 1,400 individuals and companies, their productive activities play a crucial role in the region’s development. The economic contributions of AARC members lead to the creation of numerous jobs and serve as a driving force for the local economy.
To date, AARC operates as a non-profit civil association, with its highest governing body being the General Assembly of Members.
Working in collaboration with ten other partner agricultural associations within the state of Sinaloa, CAADES Sinaloa A.C. exemplifies a well-organized national structure for growers.
