The Cardenas Foundation celebrates Children’s Day
The Cardenas Foundation in conjunction with the International Business Alumni Association of the Tec de Monterrey Campus Sinaloa, organized a big party to celebrate Children’s Day for the children of the workers of the Pantulis and Cafetal fields.
The President of the Alumni Association, Dahely Morales Esparza, and the team of young people brought all the attitude to play with the children, share a delicious cake and give toys to each of the 150 children attending from these agricultural fields.
Over the years, the Cardenas Foundation has made it a tradition to celebrate this day for the children of farmworkers. Year after year, the Foundation organizes different activities with various institutions to bring fun and joy to all the children.
Likewise, within our agricultural community Veggies From Mexico, the social responsibility areas of the companies carry out parties in the shelters and Community Development Centers with piñatas, food, cake, gifts, and lots of fun for the children.
According to the UN, this day offers us a starting point to carry out inspiring measures to defend, promote and celebrate children’s rights through dialogues and actions that will build a better world for them. That is why on November 20, 1959, the General Assembly proclaimed the celebration of International Children’s Day; however, each country has decided on a different day to celebrate children around the world. In Mexico, for example, in 1924, April 30 was designated as Children’s Day.
The Cardenas Foundation is an institution that focuses on improving the living conditions of agricultural workers and their families, with children as a fundamental part of its mission.
Some of its strategic pillars are Health, education, culture and recreation, environmental care, and family development.
