Grupo Chaparral welcomes its employees for the 2023-2024 agricultural season
Yearly, Grupo Chaparral marks the beginning of the agricultural season by welcoming its field employees.
Year after year, the staff who work in the fields of the farms that are part of Grupo Chaparral happily work in the harvest of thousands of tomatoes and bell peppers again.
The process begins when the company sends its recruiter to the place of origin of the migrants and through a call for applications, the process of communication and recruitment is carried out, in which the general information about the company is shared, as the food that is grown well as the rights that the worker has when coming to the farm, such as fair wages, decent housing, services, benefits of the law, among others. They are also informed about the personal identification documents required for hiring. This information is provided with the support of posters and brochures. At the end of this process, the company organizes the departure days for the workers and their families, who are transported from their place of origin in buses in excellent condition, with which the company has written contracts stipulating the mechanical conditions, insurance policy, valid permits, verification of the same, etc. During the journey, the necessary stops are made so that they can go to the bathroom, drink water, and take food, which is provided by the company.
Once the employees and their families arrive at their destination, Grupo Chaparral gives them a welcome talk, where they are informed of the company’s regulations and policies, and they are again informed about the services available to them and their families, such as schools, daycare centers, medical offices, etc. They are given a house equipped with a bed, a mattress, and some household appliances such as a stove, a gas cylinder, and a free small pantry.
For Agrícola Chaparral and Agroindustrias Tomball, companies that are part of Veggies from Mexico, it is of vital importance that their employees have everything they need to work in harmony.
With these actions, Grupo Chaparral not only harvests food but also the satisfaction, appreciation, and loyalty of its collaborators who come back to work each season.
