Fundación Cárdenas and Ópticas EstarBien deliver glasses to children of Villa Juárez
Last March, Fundación Cárdenas and Ópticas EstarBien delivered 100 glasses to children of the Quetzalcóatl Elementary School located in Villa Juárez, Navolato. This event was carried out through the “Communities Program, fostering Students for a brighter future” led by Ópticas EstarBien.
The main objective of this glass donation is to provide children with better visual health so they can have a better reading performance, improve their school performance, and have a better quality of life.
Eduardo Rico Cárdenas, President of Grupo Estar Bien, Lilia Carolina Ceniceros López, CEO of Fundación Cárdenas, Francisco Campaña, Partner of Agrícola Campaña, Georgius Gotsis, Director of Veggies from Mexico, staff from Fundación Ver Con Amor and EXATEC were present at the event.
During the event, Eduardo Rico, President of Grupo Estar Bien thanked Fundación Cárdenas and each of the organizations present for their support, which has benefited the development of the program, and the objective is to deliver 1000 glasses.
Britani Taily, a student at Quetzalcoatl Elementary School, expressed her gratitude for receiving her new glasses, which will help her concentrate better and read faster.
According to the Pan American Health Organization, young children with severe early-onset visual impairment can suffer delays in motor, language, emotional, social, and cognitive development, with lifelong consequences, and it supports governments in the development of standards, policies, and guidelines in eye care and plans for strengthening eye care systems.
Fundación Cárdenas is an institution that promotes, connects, and coordinates community intervention projects. Its goal is to improve the lives of rural people through community work and training. The foundation supports children, adolescents, and adults.
