Cesar Galaviz presents his first report: He recognizes the commitment of the AARFS to produce food
Los Mochis, Sinaloa. – On February 25th, Mr. Cesar Enrique Galaviz Lugo, President of the Farmers Association of Rio Fuerte Sur (AARFS), presented the first report of the current Steering Committee, detailing the main achievements and initiatives that have been accomplished during this past year.
This report had the honorary presence of the Mayor of Ahome Gerardo Vargas Landeros, Marte Vega Roman President of Cadees, and Jaime Montes Salas Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of Sinaloa.
“This first year has been a cycle of challenges, which we have faced with the courage required by the responsibility of the organization, the AARFS inspires strength and unity, and its members have vocation and commitment, the main objective to produce food for millions of Mexicans,” said Cesar Galaviz in his message.
The President of the Association added that this first year was a cycle of challenges, which he has overcome with the courage that the responsibility of the organization demands, managing to give certainty to the growers to maintain the prestige of being one of the options that guarantee the most reliability for the productive sector.
AARFS A.C. is a non-profit organization integrated by 2,500 smallholder growers from the north of the state of Sinaloa, Mexico.
It was founded on November 25, 1932, under the Law for the Promotion of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa. It is currently governed by the Law of Agricultural Organizations of the State of Sinaloa and the organization’s bylaws. Its highest authority is the General Assembly, in which only active members participate with voice and vote.
The Assembly’s mandate is vested in a Management Committee, which is democratically elected for three years and is supported by an administrative structure with honesty and professionalism.

Together with ten other sister agricultural associations operating within the state of Sinaloa, they form the Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa (CAADES) Sinaloa A.C., forming an exemplary growers’ organization structure at the national level.
