Veggies From Mexico Participates in The Mexico Conference 2024
Recently, The Mexico Conference took place in Guadalajara, organized by the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA), one of the most representative organizations in North America on issues of production and marketing of fresh produce and flowers.
This event has long been recognized as the PMA event in the United States and has its Expo and main show every year in the United States in different cities. This year, it will be held in Atlanta from October 17 to 19.
The Mexico Conference now has its Mexican version, following similar events in Chile and Brazil.
The Guadalajara conference was a resounding success, drawing suppliers, growers, and buyers. It was held at the Hard Rock Hotel. The setup was refreshingly different: the same space hosted conferences and exhibitors. Attendees could seamlessly transition from talks to direct interactions with technology and supply providers.
A highlight for many growers was the business roundtable. Supermarkets such as Walmart, Vespa, Soriana, Ley, La Comer, City Club, and Chedraui participated. Each grower had an opportunity to showcase their fruits and vegetables, seeking potential deals. Notably, Veggies from Mexico sponsored this business roundtable.

Similarly, it was a pleasure to greet various buyers and employees of the Walmart store who took advantage of the forum to make a Summit with their customers, with whom they shared information about the company, and trends, among other details.
Additionally, Walmart representatives and employees engaged in a summit during the forum, sharing insights about the company and industry trends.
The conference featured high-level talks, including the CSO of IFPA, Dr. Max Teplitski’s discussion on the state of the Mexican market. Emily Moyer (IFPA VP of Regulation and Compliance), Ana María Cordero, and Noemí Zúñiga from IICA provided valuable knowledge and tools related to food safety policies.
Another notable panel featured Patricia Toledo (Syngenta), Marion Avril (Driscoll’s), and Michael Dupuis (Divine Flavor). They addressed Mexico’s water scarcity and shared innovative practices used on their farms.

Anticipation surrounded Paulina Hernandez’s conference from Euromonitor, where she discussed economic expectations and food consumption innovations for the coming years.
Representing Veggies from Mexico – CAADES, Mr. Georgius Gotsis (CEO) and Mr. Francisco Campaña (Board Treasurer) engaged with growers from the community. They connected with North American supermarkets keen on partnering with Sinaloa’s growers.
This event equips growers with knowledge and tools and fosters valuable business opportunities.”
