Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico – The 5th Symposium on Agricultural Social Responsibility, organized by the Mexican Association of Protected Horticulture AC (AMHPAC), took place on March 21st and 22nd. As always, it was a first-class event attended by over 150 representatives from the most important agricultural companies across Mexico.
In addition to the producers, who played a central role in this event, other participants included Mr. Marco Valerio Perez, Head of the Jalisco Secretary of Labor; Mr. Juan Pablo Molina, Vice President of the labor area of the CNA; Marion Avirl, President of AHIFORES; Mr. Juan Flores, General Director of Aneberries; Ms. Liliana Diaz, Director of the Agricultural Council of Baja California; Ms. Esther Escarzaga, National Manager of BANMX; and, of course, Mr. Alfredo Diaz, General Director of AMPHPAC.
The symposium aimed to address the various challenges related to social responsibility currently faced by Mexican producers. It focused on analyzing the potential consequences of these challenges and exploring ways in which producers can adapt to drive positive changes and enhance conditions for their collaborators.
The event featured four conferences, two discussions, and three workshops. Topics covered included competitiveness, strategies for retaining farm personnel and reducing turnover, drought-related issues, and the recent labor reforms. Notably, discussions delved into mandatory food provisions for farm workers, among other critical matters.

And, of course, innovation remained a central theme. We have witnessed its impact across all facets of agricultural companies: from greenhouses and packaging to administrative processes, and notably, in the realm of social responsibility was not overlooked. Through the strategic use of artificial intelligence and big data, producers have been empowered to make informed decisions and enhance services and benefits for their employees.
