Formation of the State Intersectoral Group (GEI) in Sinaloa
The State Intersectoral Group (GEI) has been established in Sinaloa, bringing together collaborative efforts as part of the public health and health promotion program. Its primary objective is to create working groups to promote intersectoral actions improving the quality of life for the people of Sinaloa. Participating organizations include the Red Cross, COBAES, the Sinaloa Medical Association Civil Association (Colegio Médico de Sinaloa A.C.), the Sinaloa Ministry of Tourism, and the Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa (CAADES).
The GEI’s mission is to design, propose, and implement strategies to address the population in Sinaloa’s health challenges. These efforts aim to improve lifestyles, create healthy environments, and collectively tackle health issues arising from natural disasters or diseases, with a special focus on vulnerable populations across the state.
Dr. Cuitlahuac Gonzalez, Secretary of Health, emphasized that these working groups complement existing activities to safeguard public health and ensure the well-being of all families. With support from the Ministry of Health and the State Government, the GEI aims to position Sinaloa as a state committed to well-being.

“Working collaboratively in groups like the GEI allows us to guarantee and enhance the quality of life for the people of Sinaloa,” stated Dr. Gonzalez. “Our shared commitment focuses on innovative and practical strategies to address health challenges statewide.”
Among the priority topics identified by Gonzalez Galindo are mental health, breastfeeding, first aid, physical activity, workplace defibrillator installation, early cancer diagnosis, and more. These efforts are part of a joint initiative to preserve health throughout the state.
We are pleased to announce that Georgius Gotsis, our director representing CAADES and the agricultural community Veggies from Mexico, has joined the GEI. This reaffirms our longstanding commitment to protecting and supporting families and farm workers.

The agricultural companies within the Veggies from Mexico community in Sinaloa provide comprehensive support to their farm workers, including childcare, housing, transportation, education for children, collective dining facilities, breastfeeding centers, safety programs, and civil protection initiatives. Medical care for workers and their families is delivered by contracted medical teams or, when appropriate, by the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) assigned to company offices. The company collaborates with the Mexican Ministry of Health to ensure timely disease detection and preventive care for workers.
We guarantee that workers and their families can access first-level medical following the Federal Labor Law.
