Expo Agro Sinaloa Donates to ProFamilia de Jornaleros IAP for Social Responsibility in Sinaloa
Culiacán, Sinaloa – Expo Agro Sinaloa recently made a generous donation to the private assistance institution Pro-Familia de Jornaleros IAP, which provides support to farm workers in Sinaloa. The funds were collected from the Expo Agro 2024 box office.
The contribution was facilitated by CAADES directors, acting as representatives of Expo Agro Sinaloa.
Marte Vega Roman, President of CAADES, expressed pride in having an institution like Pro-Familia de Jornaleros IAP in Sinaloa. He emphasized that this model should not only be replicated in other municipalities within the state but also across Mexico. The donation serves as recognition for the impactful work being carried out and underscores the commitment of Sinaloa’s agricultural growers to the well-being of those laboring in the fields.
“We strive to create optimal conditions for people working in Sinaloa’s fields,” stated Vega Román.
David Careaga, Director of the AARC, shared his vision for growth. “Since 2006, we have made progress, but we aspire to go even further. This contribution motivates us to expand our reach across the state, benefiting families residing here in Culiacan.”
Adriana Ibarra, Coordinator of the Pro-Familia de Jornaleros Project, expressed pride in such actions. She reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening social programs developed by horticultural companies, ultimately benefiting their human capital – the workers and their families.
Pro-Familia de Jornaleros I.A.P. serves as the social arm of the Asociación de Agricultores del Río Culiacán, A.C. (AARC). Their primary objective is to enhance the well-being and quality of life for families of migrant agricultural workers, particularly children, residing in the agricultural shelters in the valleys of Culiacán and Navolato.
“This institution is dedicated to enhancing the well-being and quality of life for migrant workers from the states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, Veracruz, Michoacán, Hidalgo, and Sinaloa. Our approach is based on a comprehensive model that focuses on five central pillars: health, education, nutrition, sports, labor, and community welfare.
To achieve our objectives, we have a dedicated team comprising doctors, psychologists, dentists, physical education teachers, social workers, and personnel from partner farms. Working in coordination, we promote a culture of prevention and self-care among families. As a result of these collective efforts, tangible improvements are evident within the community.”
