CAADES Presents Its Second Activities Report – Steering Committee 2022-2024
Marte Vega, President of CAADES, delivered his second activities report during the CAADES Ordinary General Assembly today. As President of the Board of Directors for 2022-2025, he provided a comprehensive overview of the organization’s activities.
Those present were the principal members of CAADES:
- Jose Enrique Rodarte Espinosa de los Monteros (Secretary General)
- Luis Alberto Cota (Treasurer)
- German Medina Loya and Baltazar Aguilasocho Montoya (Commissioners)
CAADES President, Board Members, and Delegates, as well as former Presidents Jorge Kondo Lopez, Gonzalo Beltran, Ulises Robles, and Gustavo Rojo Plascencia, were present at the assembly. Their presence bore witness to the organization’s accountability, governed by the Law of Agricultural Organizations of the State of Sinaloa.
During his report, Mr. Marte Vega stressed the commitment of Veggies From Mexico to continuous improvement. Through weekly audits, they ensure that agricultural companies comply with commercial schemes related to food safety, social responsibility, and sustainability.
He also highlighted significant initiatives undertaken by the organization, including the services provided by CAADES’ Trocadero. Notably, the annual volume of loads exceeds 75,000, primarily consisting of horticultural crops.
“El Trocadero offers various services, including weighing, parking, handling, customs agencies, logistics support, and storage for various cargo types. We issue permits for overweight loads, provide insurance, arrange cargo, handle labeling, facilitate transshipments and rearrangements, and offer ramp rental. Our focus is on meeting the export needs of fruits and vegetables, making us a logistics service center with an impressive annual operation volume of 75 thousand loads per year,” stated Vega Roman.
The President of CAADES emphasized the importance of the agricultural event Expo Agro Sinaloa, which significantly impacts the economy throughout the productive chain. This year, the event attracted 40,000 attendees and generated an economic revenue exceeding 200 million pesos within the venue.
Vega Roman also highlighted the significance of the actions taken by the Vegetable Commission for Defense, Research, and Development (CIDH) to follow up on the agreement to suspend the Dumping of Tomatoes. Additionally, he addressed steps related to labor matters, particularly those associated with the reform of Article 162 concerning labor issues.
Furthermore, he discussed the efforts made in corn commercialization during the last cycle and the prospects for the current cycle.
Undoubtedly, the reported period presented numerous challenges, but the strength of CAADES and its eleven Agricultural Associations lies in the unity of its farmers.
The Confederation of Agricultural Associations of the State of Sinaloa (CAADES) is a public interest organization, autonomous, with its legal personality. It comprises eleven Agricultural Associations, representing more than 30,000 farmers. The highest authority within CAADES is the Assembly, consisting of three delegates and one counselor from each of the ten Farmers’ Associations.
