Reili Iñaqui Escobar García, a 15-year-old student at the Migrant High School of Campo Esmeralda in Villa Juárez, Navolato, achieved second place in the statewide “Plasma tus derechos 2024” contest organized by the State Human Rights Commission (CEDH). Reili, the son of migrant workers from Agricola Chaparral in Campo Esmeralda, stood out for his talent in creating a drawing that reflected his understanding and commitment to human rights.
The contest challenged young middle and high school students participants to create drawings illustrating various rights of adolescents, including the right to be free from discrimination, access to information technology, inclusive education, a violence-free environment, the right to attend school and learn, having a name and birth certificate, rest, play, participate in recreational activities, live in a family, enjoy good health, access healthy food, a clean environment, and protection of personal and family privacy.

Her message emphasized that genuine friendships and family support can help overcome feelings of isolation.
The awards ceremony was a proud moment for Reili and her family. Accompanied by her parents, Eugenia García Ramírez and Rolando Escobar Hernández, her teacher Ana Doris López Olivas, High School Principal Xóchitl Guadalupe Terrazas Salazar, Campo Esmeralda’s social worker Paula Glacira Becerra, and several classmates, Reili received the award with joy and emotion.
