School Trip to the Sea Turtle Museum at Ceuta Beach (Playa Ceuta)

Del Campo y Asociados, a member company of our Veggies From Mexico farming community, in cooperation with the City Council of Elota, organized a school trip to the Sea Turtle Museum for the children of employees at the San Juan field, in La Cruz de Elota.
During the trip, the children toured around the museum and the turtle sanctuary on Ceuta Beach, where they learned about sea turtle conservation and participated in releasing some of them onto the sea.

.
It was a unique experience that allowed them to connect with nature and understand the importance of caring for the environment. For the company, seeing the joy in the children while releasing the turtles was very meaningful. Activities like these help foster respect and appreciation for marine life in new generations.
The Ceuta Beach Sea Turtle Sanctuary is a complex of lagoons, swamps, and mangroves that extend for just over 500 hectares in the Gulf of California, in the municipality of Elota, Sinaloa. Three of the seven species of sea turtles come to nest on this beach: the olive ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea), the green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), and the leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). It is also considered a strategic wetland within the Pacific Migratory Corridor, over which several species of migratory birds fly.

If you are visiting Ceuta Beach, do not forget to visit the turtle museum. Luckly, you will learn about these animals and even participate in releasing them onto the beach.
