Del Campo y Asociados organizes a plant donation campaign

“If I knew that the world would end tomorrow, I would still plant a tree today”
Martin Luther King

Motivated by the desire to bring well-being and joy to its migrant workers, Del Campo y Asociados, through its social work department, carried out a plant donation campaign in October. The objective of this project was to create more green spaces for the families that return to work at the company each year so that they have more spaces where they can feel comfortable to play, read a book, or socialize.
The families who live in the shelter and a part of the company’s team were involved in the planting of the trees. They all did their bit to make this possible. They also took the opportunity to paint benches and decorate the surroundings of their homes.

With these actions, Del Campo y Asociados, a member company of our agricultural community Veggies from Mexico, inspires us to act for the community and the environment. It teaches us that we can all be changemakers and that, if we each do our part, together we can build a better world.
Likewise, having green spaces not only gives us a friendlier and greener environment but also provides many health benefits, such as cleaner, healthier air, since plants absorb carbon dioxide and other pollutants present in the air; they release oxygen, and being in contact with nature and green spaces helps reduce stress and improves mood. Several studies have shown that plants can have positive effects on people’s mental and physical health.

To summarize, plants and green spaces have beneficial effects on health, well-being, and the environment. It is important to promote and preserve these spaces in our cities and homes to enjoy all their benefits.
