Agrícola El Nazario Organizes “Food Safety Week” with the Participation of Veggies From Mexico

During the first days of October this year, a Veggies From Mexico community member: Agricola El Nazario celebrated “Food Safety Week” for its collaborators.

On this occasion, the professionals from Veggies From Mexico had the opportunity to present training sessions tailored to the most relevant agricultural needs, such as:

Appropriate Agrochemical Use and Handling: This session, led by Pharmaceutical Biologist Chemist (QFB) Elvia Martínez, was aimed at personnel with direct contact with these chemicals. It emphasized the importance of implementing food safety and innocuous controls from the reception and storage to the use and final disposal of residues.

Good Agricultural Practices: Presented by Biochemical Engineer (IBQ) Edgar Ramírez, this session targeted mid-level managers and field supervisors. Participants identified the main food safety hazards in their work areas and discussed the most appropriate control measures to maintain or improve.

Access Control and Surveillance: This training, led by Claudio Román, was aimed mainly at personnel responsible for access control and surveillance of agricultural fields, lodging, offices, and packing areas. It included the food safety and quality manager and the food safety coordinator. Security workers emphasized the importance of their role, discussed    real situations and how they managed them, and defined future process improvements to maintain food defense controls, facility safety, and control of visitors and suppliers.

Food Safety Culture: Conducted by QFB Elvia Martínez and IBQ Edgar Ramírez, this session   was aimed at the heads of food safety, social responsibility, administration, and maintenance areas. It identified the team’s areas of opportunity and strengths to create awareness that contributes to fostering a culture of compliance beyond just food safety issues.

Agrícola El Nazario reiterates its commitment to keeping its personnel up-to-date and continuing to effectively implement and improve its food safety and social responsibility processes.
