Veggies From Mexico gives talk about new version of SMETA at Del Campo y Asociados
With the implementation of version 7.0 of the SMETA audit, applicable from the 2024-2025 season, farming companies which are members of the Veggies From Mexico Community are getting ready to receive the auditors with the implemented changes. Such is the case of Del Campo y Asociados, which on November 28 organized a talk in coordination with Veggies From Mexico.
The talk was intended for mid-level managers and management representatives, in charge of the different processes under the scope of the audit, and concepts such as what is SMETA, the ETI Code, the subjects covered by the audit and the changes included in the new version were explained.

The meeting was held in a hybrid manner, with the presence of staff in operation at La Cruz, Elota and the state of Jalisco.
In general, it can be said that what SMETA is looking for with version 7.0 is to have a focus on the Quality Management System, by performing risk assessments that give us better information, documenting the processes that are regularly already being implemented, as well as establishing how to monitor them and act accordingly.

SMETA is the most widely used audit in the world. It is an audit that helps understanding the standards of work, health, and safety, environmental performance and ethics within own operations or at a site of a supplier.
