CAADES & FVDRC Sign Collaboration Agreement
By: Georgius Gotsis Fontes, Director of Veggies from Mexico – CAADES
On August 28th, 29th, and 30th, the annual congress of the Mexican Association of Protected Horticulture AC (AMHPAC) took place. The event was attended by the most important vegetable growers in Mexico. German Gandara, a tomato grower, was elected as the organization’s new president, and we are confident he will excel in representing this association.
The event included an exhibition space and a series of talks and panels, including a discussion entitled: “Mexican Fruit and Vegetable Sector: Opportunities, Challenges, and Threats,” with the participation of Marte Vega, president of CAADES, Juan Labastida, president of AMSAC, Juan Jose Flores, General Director of Aneberries, German Gandara, president of AMHPAC, and moderated by Alfredo Diaz, general director of AMHPAC. It is worth mentioning the participation of the president of CAADES, who shared that Sinaloa’s vegetable production exceeds 2.5 million tons, representing 15 percent of national output.

This event also served as a stage for the signing of a collaboration agreement between Veggies from Mexico / CAADES and the Canadian Dispute Resolution Corporation (DRC), which aims to resolve trade disputes between growers, distributors, brokers, buyers, retailers, and all those involved in the purchase and sale of fresh fruits and vegetables in Canada and the United States. This organization was founded in 2009 and seeks to offer its members procedures and services that allow them to avoid disputes through mediation, consultation, and arbitration services.
With this agreement, Veggies from Mexico / CAADES seeks to offer growers in Sinaloa courses, and training, and facilitate the process to become members. Additionally, it aims to give growers access to DRC’s online tools, share news and updates from both parties and even hold an educational seminar at Expoagro Sinaloa 2025.

Although this important agreement had been finalized a couple of months ago, it was signed in person during this congress. Marte Vega Roman signed on behalf of CAADES, and Luc Mougeot, President of DRC, and Jaime Bustamante, Director of Trading Assistance of DRC, signed on behalf of DRC. Enrique Riveros, President of AARC, Mr. Mario Haroldo Robles, Director of CIDH, and I, Georgius Gotsis Fontes, Director of Veggies from Mexico, were also present.
We are confident that these efforts will continue to contribute to the commercial success of growers of Sinaloa.
