Sinaloa Among Top Three Entities with Highest Agricultural Exports
Michoacán, renowned for its avocado production, also leads the country in agricultural export value. Between January and March 2024, it exported $1.306 billion in farm products. During the first quarter of 2024, Mexican agricultural exports saw a year-on-year growth of 4.3%, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

Michoacán was the top entity in agricultural export value, with notable international shipments of avocados, strawberries, blackberries, and lentils. Sinaloa and Sonora followed, with total exports of $1.034 billion and $563 million, respectively.
Other entities in the top 10 included Jalisco, Baja California, Guanajuato, Chihuahua, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, and Chiapas. Despite the progress in the agricultural export sector, it faces significant challenges such as organized crime, climate conditions, and public policies.
