Agroindustrias Tombell which is part of Grupo Chaparral is a successful farming operation originated in the 1960s. In 1990, its owner, Mr. “Chema” Gallardo needed the support of his son-in-law Sergio, for some financial and legal matters. Back then, Sergio was a young and successful lawyer with little interest in the farming business.

But as a result of that occasion, Sergio became involved in business affairs and with the help and advice of his great friend Roberto Tarriba and Mr. Chema, he changed his suit and tie for jeans and work boots.

Today Sergio, and Chema’s grandsons David Villarreal and Ivan Angulo operate 3 farming units, which are an international example in terms of productivity, quality, safety, and social responsibility.
