Valeria Viera Guzman, Human Resources at Agricola Chaparral

Why do I enjoy working in the produce industry, and why do I believe women play such an important role in it?
What I enjoy most about working in the produce industry is everything it represents. It’s an industry that requires hard work, adaptability, and continuous learning. For those of us from Sinaloa, it’s also an important part of our identity and something we can truly take pride in.

I believe women’s participation in this industry is essential because it brings both challenges and great opportunities for growth. It allows us to innovate, learn, relearn, and discover new skills while taking on different roles, building on what we already know and remaining open to everything we have yet to learn.
One of the things I enjoy most about my job is that this growth doesn’t stop with me. Working in Human Resources gives us the opportunity to support the development of other women, as well as our colleagues, by guiding them through their learning experiences, providing them with tools, and helping them continue to grow professionally.

To me, that’s one of the most rewarding parts of working in this industry: knowing there’s always something new to learn and someone else we can help grow. I truly love what I do, and I’m proud to be part of an industry that means so much to our state.
