Last September 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., our CEO, Georgius Gotsis, was honored to moderate a panel on farming marketing developed by Asociación de Agricultores del Rio Culiacan (Culiacan River Farmers Association (AARC), which included prominent industry professionals. Panelists included Enrique Perez, from Enza Zaden; David Gaxiola, with a long family history in the agribusiness through Agricola Chaparral, and currently in the management team of Agricompra, the first online farming products platform in Mexico; as well as Samuel Mora, SUPPRA CEO.

The panel was dynamic, enlightening and, above all, focused on the real needs of the produce market. Each panelist shared his experience of how the concept of farming marketing has evolved, emphasizing that today, it is not enough to simply grow, but it is essential to understand what buyers and consumers are looking for.

During the discussion, they agreed that there are three key aspects for successful competition:

  1. Trust: The business relationship must be built on the certainty that the buyer knows who you are and is able to trust the quality and safety of what you deliver. They want a more human face. They want the person behind that tomato, pepper, or cucumber that reaches their table.
  1. Consistency: It is not enough to do it right once; the key is to preserve the quality, service, and commitments over time.
  1. Innovation: The farming sector must incorporate new tools and solutions that add value to both the buyer and the end consumer, by adjusting to changing trends and needs.

The conclusion was clear: farming marketing must stop focusing solely on what farmers want to grow and instead focus on what the market truly needs. Only then, will we be able to strengthen competitiveness and ensure the continued presence of our products in the most demanding markets.
