Know more about Veggies From Mexico: Small Grower – Eleven Rivers Growers

Each year, the number of small and medium-sized growers entering the world of fresh food exports continues to increase, along with the need for guidance on topics such as food safety.

For many of these companies, the main challenges they face include designing, implementing, and maintaining best practices in order to prevent conditions that may affect both their products and their workers.

Given these challenges, it is essential for companies to know their compliance status at the start of operations in order to make clearer decisions: which activities to carry out, how to design facility infrastructure or operational areas, and even which commercial certifications are most appropriate for them.

There has also been an increase in growers targeting the domestic market, who likewise seek to comply with the food safety standards required by supermarkets—often standards that are new to them. For this reason, it is important for them to have access to a quick, simple, easy-to-read and easy-to-understand, yet effective and comprehensive evaluation that allows them to clearly identify their level of compliance.

For this purpose, Eleven Rivers offers all growers in Sinaloa—large, medium, or small—a self-assessment tool that contains the most important food safety criteria (with Social Responsibility criteria to be included soon). This evaluation is carried out online (with the option for the Eleven Rivers team to perform it on-site) and provides automatic results upon completion. It also includes a simple and practical explanation that is easy to understand.

The results of the self-assessment highlight the criteria in which deficiencies were found, along with suggestions for improvement. Additionally, if the company and/or grower requires further guidance, they can count on the support of the Eleven Rivers team—whether by phone, online, or in person—aimed at continuously improving the practices they currently have in place.
