Jesus Rojo Plascencia presents his first activity report as head of CAADES







Culiacan, Sinaloa, March 2026. — Within the context of their General Ordinary Meeting, the Chairman of the Confederation of Farming Associations in the State of Sinaloa (CAADES), Jesus Rojo Plascencia, presented his First Activity Report, with the presence of distinguished authorities from the three levels of government and from the farming sector.
The event was attended by the Governor of Sinaloa, PhD. Ruben Rocha Moya; the Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock, Ismael Bello Esquivel; the Mayor of Culiacán, Juan de Dios Gamez Mendívil; Deputy Irma Guadalupe Moreno Ovalles, Head of the Agricultural Affairs Committee; Luis Fernando Haro Encinas, Manager of the National Agricultural Council; and Jesus Vega Acuña, Representative from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Sinaloa.

During the course of his activity report, Mr. Rojo highlighted the services and achievements of agricultural organizations that belong to CAADES. He stated that in 2026, Veggies From Mexico will enter a stage of consolidation and strategic expansion. In addition to continuing weekly audits on food safety and social responsibility already being developed in farming companies, the organization will strengthen the value ecosystem with more training programs aligned with international and governmental standards. In short: a greater technical strictness, more training, and more humanity behind the food that Sinaloa grows for the world.
The report underscored that 2025 was one of the most challenging years for the farming sector in Sinaloa. Nevertheless, despite the adverse context, CAADES reported significant progress:
* Agricultural marketing: Nearly all harvests were sold at reasonable prices through negotiations with authorities.
* Water infrastructure: Advances in the modernization of irrigation districts that will impact over 914,290.35 acres.
* Horticultural exports: A 19% increase in export volumes.
* Market diversification: Reopening of bell pepper exports to Japan.
* ExpoAgro Sinaloa: A consolidated event with the participation of 198 companies, strengthening commercial exchange.

As an organization, crops with lower water consumption were promoted, such as:
* Beans: 219,000 tons (twice the volume of a normal year).
* Chickpeas: 159,000 tons.
CAADES also emphasized its role as a liaison with federal and state authorities, achieving:
* Additional support for corn and wheat growers.
* Progress in the marketing of domestic inventories.
* Simplification of operating rules and support payments.
In his message, CAADES Chairman Jesus Rojo Plascencia called for unity within the farming sector and reaffirmed his commitment to continue managing solutions with all levels of government.
