Agricola Belher has achieved a successful conclusion to the first module of the World Vision Mexico: Harvesting Labor Rights workshop. This collaborative effort involved training employees from all areas of the company, totaling 1021 participants. The workshop is structured into five modules, each comprising 15 sessions.

Agricola Belher’s employees actively participated in the sessions, demonstrating a keen interest in learning about their rights and ensuring compliance within the company. Moving forward, Agricola Belher will continue its partnership with World Vision Mexico during subsequent workshop modules. These upcoming modules will address topics such as preventing workplace harassment, promoting gender equality, and safeguarding the rights of migrant workers, among others.

The Harvesting Labor Rights project, funded by ESDC’s Labour Program (Employment and Social Development Canada), aims to foster collaboration, partnerships, and alliances to address labor-related issues. It seeks to enhance the effective implementing capacity and enforcing local labor laws, improving practices, and eliminating unfair treatment.

World Vision Mexico, an international organization with over 40 years of experience in Mexico, plays a pivotal role in protecting children, adolescents, and young people. Their initiatives include diagnosing factors contributing to school dropout rates, teenage pregnancy, and other challenges, leading to the government actions implementation for prevention.

The Veggies from Mexico community members consistently prioritize not only compliance with labor rights but also surpassing them. By offering housing, electricity, gas, daycare centers, school transportation, and other facilities, they create a supportive environment for employees and their families.
