Over 100 CEOs, Managers and Social Responsibility Managers, representing nearly 50 companies located in 17 states of Mexico, among them, internal audit personnel from Eleven Rivers Growers – Veggies From Mexico, gathered in the second edition of the Symposium on Farming Social Responsibility by the AMHPAC, which was held virtually on March 11-12, 2021 due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.
The symposium was made up of 9 conferences and 2 workshops, and on the first day (March 11), the following subjects were addressed: Results of the labor conditions of workers in export agriculture, outsourcing of field workers and the formalization of the labor relation, sustainability in the farming industry, sustainable innovation, system of good labor practices and dignified work, and compliance with T-MEC’s labor obligations. On the second and last day (March 12), the following subjects were addressed: Applicable environmental legislation in farming, overall description of FDA requirements for growing, harvesting, packaging and storage of fresh farming products, regulation of labor intermediaries under T-MEC framework, labor contracts, management of Walmart Responsible Sourcing, and binding standards and policies in hiring personnel, applicable to the farming sector.
