Ministry of Economy introduces the program “Expórtate de Sinaloa para el Mundo”

Culiacan, Sinaloa, August 11th, 2022.

With the purpose of promoting Sinaloa companies in global markets, the Expórtate program was officially announced, which includes an agreement with the ‘Aceleradora Internacional de las Américas’ to grant 35 scholarships for a 12-month program that will help consolidate export projects.

In his message, the Secretary of Economy, Javier Gaxiola Coppel, stated that the objective is for businessmen to know in detail the requirements, logistic processes, costs, risks, and the different challenges a businessman must face when he enters the international arena.

“In the Ministry of Economy and under the vision of Governor Ruben Rocha we are generating alliances with organizations, institutions, and associations such as the International Accelerator of the Americas, so that entrepreneurs and already consolidated businessmen can access the advice they truly require,” he emphasized.

The launching event of the “Expórtate” program also included the Panel: “Opportunities and Challenges of Foreign Trade” with the participation of Juan Ley, General Director of Santara Company and President of the Mexican Beef Exporters Association, Alfredo Angulo from “Sabor Mani” and Cesar Reyes Ochoa from “Productos El Rey”. The panel was moderated by Israel Diaz Escobar Sanchez of Escobar Carriedo y Asociados.

The entrepreneurs and businessmen also participated in workshops on various topics: “Logistics, requirements and customs documentation necessary to export”, given by Israel Díaz Escobar, Escobar Carriedo y Asociados; “Common mistakes when exporting and taking advantage of digital platforms”, given by Alfredo Angulo, Director of Sabor Mani and “Effective trade missions to close business and stay in the target market”, which was shared by Rodrigo Armendariz Hernandez, Director of ‘Aceleradora Internacional de las Américas’.

The launch of the “Expórtate” program was attended by Rosario Beltran Ureta, President of the Mexican Business Council of Foreign Trade in Sinaloa, Antonio Ramirez Magaña, Delegate of the National Association of Importers of the Mexican Republic (ANIERM), Antonio Ramirez Magaña and the Director of the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Sinaloa, Richard David Huett, chambers and business organizations, more than 150 attendees in person and more than 850 connected through the transmission on social networks.

The “Expórtate” program will prepare the exportable commercial offer of the companies, test their opportunities, and develop an immediate marketing plan. It is aimed at Sinaloa companies or entrepreneurs with a commercial offer, whether product or service, interested in exploring the international market.

The Secretary of Economy reported progress in Sinaloa’s export activity, in 2021 there was a 17% growth in exports, and 607 Sinaloa companies exported more than 4 billion dollars to more than 100 countries, including the USA, Japan, Canada, and Spain.

Of the more than 4 billion dollars, 29% corresponds to the agri-food sector and 28% to the agricultural sector; agribusiness represents 17%; manufacturing industry 16%; mining 6% and fishing 3%.

Rodrigo Armendariz, President of the Board of Directors of the International Accelerator of the Americas, mentioned that they want to get to know the entrepreneurs and companies of Sinaloa to work together and provide the necessary tools to sell more and better in the international market through entrepreneurship programs, acceleration, linkage, specialized programs and whatever is required to improve competitiveness.

In her speech, Dulce Carolina Ramirez Cruz, Director of Relationship of the International Accelerator of the Americas commented that the scholarships for the 35 companies will consist of support for 70% of the resources for consulting and comprehensive development in export issues to the North American market, under three main levels of development of international marketing.

“Throughout 12 months the participating companies and beneficiaries of this program will be able to achieve the commercialization of their products in traditional B2B and digital B2C channels with a complete accompaniment and integral development in each of its consolidation stages”, mentioned Ramírez Cruz.
